Théâtre St-James

Best For:

• Theatrical productions and performance-based events
• Corporate presentations and seminars
• Cultural gatherings and arts-focused celebrations
• Intimate to mid-sized private events (pending capacity confirmation)

Estimated Budget Range: Without published pricing, this is difficult to estimate accurately. Theatre venues in Montreal's Old Town typically range from $1,500–$5,000+ for venue rental depending on capacity and event type. Factor in additional costs for technical support, catering (if permitted), and staffing. Contact the venue directly for a formal quote tied to your specific date and guest count.

What planners usually like:

• Central Old Montreal location on Rue Saint-Jacques offers strong accessibility and neighborhood appeal for guests
• Theatre setting provides built-in production capabilities (lighting, sound, stage) that can reduce additional vendor needs
• Daily operating hours (12:00–6:00 PM) offer flexible booking windows for daytime and early evening events
• Established venue suggests professional infrastructure and experience managing coordinated events

Things to clarify before booking:

• Capacity details – Get exact guest count limits for different room configurations; this directly affects budget and event scope
• Technical specifications – Confirm what audio/visual equipment, lighting, and stage facilities are included versus what requires separate rental or fees
• Policies and restrictions – Clarify catering options, alcohol permissions, setup/breakdown times, and any technical staff requirements
• Evening availability – Hours list ends at 6:00 PM; confirm whether extended evening events or late-night bookings are possible and at what cost
