The Whittemore House

Best For: Intimate weddings, upscale cocktail receptions, small corporate gatherings, anniversary celebrations

Estimated Budget Range: $3,000–$8,000+ for venue rental (estimate based on historic D.C. venue positioning and lack of all-inclusive packages). Actual costs depend heavily on guest count, date, and services included. Contact the venue directly for transparent pricing breakdown.

What planners usually like:

• Historic architectural character provides built-in ambiance without extensive decoration needs
• Prime Dupont Circle location is accessible and recognizable for guests across the D.C. region
• Described track record of clear communication suggests straightforward planning process
• Intimate scale works well for events where personal attention and detailed service matter

Things to clarify before booking:

• Confirm exact guest capacity—this significantly impacts which events are feasible and pricing structure
• Understand what's included in rental (tables, chairs, linens, basic lighting) versus what requires additional vendors or fees
• Verify in-house catering requirements or restrictions on outside caterers, as this often drives overall event costs
• Clarify setup/breakdown times, event duration limits, and whether weekend/evening rates differ from daytime pricing
