Planner's guide
Best For: Dance classes and regular rehearsals, student performances and recitals, dance company practices, community dance events
Estimated Budget Range: ¥10,000–¥50,000+ per session (contact venue for exact rates; pricing typically scales with time slot duration and day of week)
What planners usually like:
- Extended weekday hours (12:00 PM–10:00 PM) accommodate both daytime classes and evening rehearsals without scheduling conflicts
- Early weekend opening (10:00 AM Saturday, 10:00 AM Sunday) provides flexibility for multi-session events or back-to-back classes
- Dedicated dance hall infrastructure suggests proper flooring, mirrors, and sound capabilities suited to the art form
- Located in accessible Naka Ward with established reputation serving the local dance community
Things to clarify before booking:
- Request the exact room capacity and floor dimensions to confirm your event size and movement requirements
- Ask about included amenities (sound system, mirrors, air conditioning, changing rooms, parking) since these significantly impact setup time and attendee experience
- Confirm whether multiple rooms or time slots are available for simultaneous events, and understand any restrictions on event duration
- Verify deposit requirements, cancellation policies, and whether weekend premium rates apply—essential for budgeting multi-session or recurring bookings
Common questions
What's the typical capacity of THE HALL YOKOHAMA, and is it suitable for my dance recital with 150 spectators?
The venue hasn't publicly listed specific capacity figures, so you'll need to contact them directly at +81 45-228-8450 or via their website. For events with audience seating (recitals, performances), clarify both the dance floor size and how many spectator seats can be arranged—this affects your overall event feasibility and layout options.
Can I book multiple time slots on the same day for consecutive dance classes or rehearsals?
This depends on the venue's scheduling policies and availability. Since THE HALL YOKOHAMA operates extended hours (10:00 AM–8:00 PM Saturday), back-to-back bookings may be possible, but you'll need to ask about minimum booking intervals, turnover time between sessions, and any discounts for multi-slot bookings.
Are the weekend hours (Saturday 10:00 AM–8:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM–6:00 PM) sufficient for a full-day dance workshop or competition?
Weekend hours provide 10 hours on Saturday and 8 hours on Sunday, which can work for single-day events. However, if your workshop requires setup, breaks, or extends into evening, Saturday offers more flexibility. Confirm whether the venue allows continuous bookings across the full operating window and if there are any hourly rate adjustments for extended rentals.
What sound and audio equipment is included, and can I bring my own DJ or sound technician?
Standard dance halls typically have basic sound systems, but THE HALL YOKOHAMA's specific equipment isn't documented. Contact the venue to confirm what's included (speakers, microphone, music connectivity options) and whether you can bring external equipment or hire a technician on-site—this is critical for choreography rehearsals and performances.
Is THE HALL YOKOHAMA accessible for dancers with mobility considerations, and are there adequate changing facilities?
These details aren't specified in the venue description. Ask about wheelchair accessibility, accessible restrooms, and dedicated changing/storage areas—particularly important if you're hosting community classes or events serving diverse populations.
How far in advance should I book, and what's the typical lead time for pricing confirmation?
As a community-focused venue, availability may vary seasonally or by day. Contact them as early as possible (at least 2–4 weeks for weekday slots, longer for weekends) and expect a response within 1–2 business days to receive custom pricing and lock in your preferred time slot.
