The Caves

Best For: Late-night celebrations and evening events (weddings, parties, corporate functions); intimate gatherings and smaller receptions; venues requiring flexible scheduling into early morning hours

Estimated Budget Range: Without published pricing, budget estimates are difficult. Contact the venue directly for quotes. Based on Edinburgh's event venue market and the venue's location/type, expect moderate to mid-range pricing. Actual costs will depend on guest count (capacity not specified), catering options, and specific services required.

What planners usually like:

• Extended operating hours (10 AM – 3 AM daily) accommodate late-running events without venue change or overtime fees
• Historic/distinctive setting provides atmospheric backdrop requiring minimal additional décor investment
• Flexible approach to customization suggests willingness to adapt to specific event requirements and timelines
• Central Old Town location on Niddry Street offers accessibility and proximity to accommodation/transport

Things to clarify before booking:

• Confirm exact capacity limits—this is essential for budget planning and guest list finalization
• Obtain detailed breakdown of what's included in pricing (tables, chairs, bar setup, kitchen facilities, staff) versus add-on costs
• Clarify policies on outside catering, alcohol, music/DJ equipment, and decoration restrictions
• Ask about acoustic properties and noise considerations, particularly for late-night events in a historic building
• Confirm availability and any minimum spend requirements for your specific dates
