Art Gallery of New South Wales

Planner Insight

Best For: Corporate galas and networking events, upscale private dinners, art-themed celebrations (exhibition launches, artist fundraisers), high-end wedding receptions

Estimated Budget Range: $15,000–$40,000+ for a 200–350 guest event. This estimate accounts for venue hire, Matt Moran catering (premium pricing), and potential art tour add-ons. Actual costs will depend on guest count, catering selections, and inclusions. Contact the venue directly for accurate quotes, as pricing is not published.

What planners usually like:

• Built-in visual appeal and sophisticated atmosphere—the art collection eliminates need for extensive décor investment
• Established partnership with Matt Moran's team streamlines catering logistics and ensures quality
• Private art tour option adds distinctive entertainment value and justifies premium positioning
• Multiple galleries provide flexible space options for different event formats (cocktail, seated dinner, breakout areas)

Things to clarify before booking:

• Confirm what's included in venue hire vs. what's additional (tables, chairs, linens, bar setup, AV capabilities)
• Verify access hours—whether evening events have extended access and if there are time restrictions
• Clarify capacity breakdown by space (how does 350 distribute across galleries, and what are minimums/maximums per area)
• Ask about exclusivity during your event and whether the public or other events occur simultaneously in non-booked galleries
