James Street Super Crawl 2016

September 9, 2016

September 11, 2016

10:00 am To 6:00 pm

Hamilton House A1, Middle Circle, D Block, New Delhi, Delhi, India

Event Description

Supercrawl — Hamilton’s annual celebration of music, art, fashion and culture — can be counted on to roll out an ambitious range of free programming that is embraced by audiences. Last year’s festival drew record crowds to James Street North, where they soaked up the sights, sounds, smells and (of course) flavours on offer.

This year, alongside heavyweight musical headliners like Monster Truck, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, and Daniel Lanois, Supercrawl organizers are pleased to welcome the festival’s largest and most diverse array of food vendors to date: Roughly 40 food trucks and carts will span four city blocks. In addition to the stand-outs of the city’s robust homegrown food truck scene, the festival hosts a number of prominent out-of-towners serving up a mouthwatering variety of foods.

About Organizer

ity of Hamilton offices are open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and are closed on all statutory holidays. These hours do not apply to facilities, programs and services that normally operate outside of core business hours. The West Niagara Agricultural Society (W.N.A.S.) is a member based non-profit charitable organization. Incorporated in 2012 under the Agricultural and Horticultural Organizations Act. A driven team of Hamilton artists and community builders founded Supercrawl in 2009 out of a desire to expand on the promise of James Street North’s monthly Art Crawl. Showcasing great music alongside an entire street of cultural experiences — a diverse and dynamic lineup of music, art, fashion, performance, talks, crafts, food and fun (local, regional national and international) — the festival has captured the imagination of culture lovers far beyond the city. Audiences have enthusiastically embraced Supercrawl’s creative ambitions. Over the festival’s first six years, the event has gone from a one-day celebration on a single city block to a weekend-long experience spanning more than a dozen blocks, with attendance growing steadily from 3,000 to 165,000 in that time. Supercrawl 2014 resulted in an economic impact of over $14 million. More importantly, festival audiences left with renewed conviction of the power of the arts and convinced of the city’s cultural vitality.
