Event Description
The 28th Annual Alberta Snowmobile & Powersports Show is held in Edmonton EXPO Centre at Northlands. The Alberta Snowmobile Association (ASA) is a non-profit volunteer organization founded in 1971 and is made up of clubs that actively work to improve snowmobiling in the province. The ASA is working for improved access for snowmobile recreation, for the continued conservation of nature, and for the cooperation with other land users and land managers.

About Organizer
The history of over the snow, motorized vehicles is relatively short in perspective. The earliest recorded efforts at creating such a vehicle date back to the early 1900’s. In the mid-30’s, such a vehicle existed and became a huge success for those who saw it as a necessity: doctors, lawyers, ambulance, and taxi drivers. It was only with the advent of smaller engines in the 1950’s that lightweight, one- or two-passenger snowmobiles were marketed. With their development, a new winter recreational activity came into being. The 60’s and early 70’s saw a rapid growth spurt in the popular activity.
