Highlights of Past Event
The minute you opened the doors to the Charleston Civic Center you stepped into the outdoor gardens with lots of different possibilities. Fountains and landscaping surrounded rocking chairs and small grill areas as well as entertainment center for game days and Sunday afternoon TV watching. The outdoor kitchen area was a dream come true for the culinary man or woman. Numerous exhibitor's provided "how to" demonstrations in their exhibit space. The Home Builders Association of Greater Charleston exhibit was an on-going commercial of "You'll be surprised what you find at the WVHS". We found jewelery; tupperware; baskets; windows; doors; Realtors; Builders; generators; HVAC; blinds; carpet & hardwood flooring. Not to mention the "man of her dreams" that one customer found. Returning for the second year in 2015; Canstruction. Canstruction is the building of structures with cans of food. A unique nonprofit organization that hosts competitions, exhibitors and events showing colossal structures made entirely out of full cans of food. After the structures are build the creations were on display to attendees of the WVHS. At the end of the viewing, all food was donated to the Covenant House food Bank located in Charleston. Canstruction's mission is to provide hunger relief assistance by collecting canned food for distribution to local food banks while promoting the design/build industry.
