Event Description

The STROMLO Running Festival is now entering its seventh year and in 2015 the format continues to be very similar to last year with only a few slight course adjustments – and hopefully without the torrential rain! Like last year, the event will be held in November and features 3 trail running events: a 50km, a 30km, and a 10km. The all inclusive early bird entry fee ($80 for 50km, $60 for 30km, and $40 for 10km) entitles participants to a high quality Mizuno finishers shirt (RRP $50), a finishing medal, post-race breakfast, as well as access to on-site camping. The weather in Canberra in November is also perfect for distance running with an average morning temperature range of 13-20°C.

About Organizer

IMP uses the marathon as a vehicle to promote healthy lifestyles to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Running is accessible to any age, ability and location and has the tremendous power to instil a sense of personal accomplishment when one has pushed beyond what they thought possible.The project annually selects a group of young Indigenous men and women to complete the New York City Marathon with just six months of training. This highlights the incredible natural talent that exists within this population, with the hope to one day unearth an Indigenous long distance running champion to take on the African dominance.
