Common questions
What's the typical guest capacity for different event formats at this venue?
The venue's website doesn't specify exact capacity, which is common for flexible lakeside spaces that accommodate various configurations. Contact them directly at +49 1578 2218961 to discuss your expected guest count—they can advise on seated dinner capacity versus cocktail reception numbers, as these typically differ significantly.
What catering and kitchen facilities are available?
Most Berlin waterfront venues either have in-house catering or approved vendor lists. You'll need to confirm whether Richtershorn provides catering services, permits outside caterers, or has a full kitchen facility. This directly impacts your budget and menu flexibility, so clarify this early in your planning.
Is this venue suitable for events during Berlin's winter months?
Lakeside venues in Berlin require weather contingency planning. Ask specifically about heated indoor spaces, tent options, and whether the venue operates year-round or has seasonal closures. Winter events are possible but may incur additional costs for climate control and protection.
What are the parking and guest arrival logistics?
Sportpromenade location suggests reasonable public transport access, but confirm whether the venue has dedicated parking, if guest parking is paid or complimentary, and whether there's valet service. Lakeside venues sometimes have limited vehicle access, so understand drop-off procedures for elderly guests or those with mobility needs.
Can we have both indoor and outdoor elements for our event?
The lakeside setting suggests outdoor possibilities, but clarify what indoor spaces exist, their climate control, and whether you can flow between inside and outside areas. This matters for events spanning multiple hours or those with unpredictable weather concerns.
What's the booking timeline and cancellation policy?
Contact the venue to understand their minimum booking notice, deposit requirements, and cancellation terms—these vary significantly. Also ask about their policy for date holds while you're still in the decision phase, and whether they offer flexibility if your guest count changes closer to the event date.
